SWEP Update Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) – 23/03/2020

As of midday today, new lockdown rules have come into effect in Victoria in an effort to reduce the spread of coronavirus in the community. Understandably, there has been a great deal of uncertainty surrounding this announcement and the classification of ‘non-essential activities’.

SWEP would like to assure clients that our laboratory will be operating as normal in order to continue supporting our agriculture industry and the health and well-being of the community. In doing so, SWEP have implemented a number of procedures to ensure the safety of our team and the public.

At this stage we will continue to accept samples delivered in-person. However we request that you notify us prior and place your samples in the Australia Post container near the entry. Therefore, please ensure your samples are labelled prior and accompanied with completed submission forms.

Given the situation is evolving daily, we are monitoring events closely and will provide updates as required. In the event that there are any changes or interruptions to our services, we will communicate these as best we can. We recommend subscribing to our mailing list for this purpose. Alternatively, please follow us on social media and check our website regularly.

Also, please don’t hesitate to contact us with any queries. In the meantime, stay safe and informed and look after one-another.
