Cation Balance, Nutrient Balance, Microbial Balance & Recommendations (10-page report) *Garden format available
This test represents the sum of almost 50 years research by SWEP’s founder and Managing Director, Ted Mikhail. The complete soil test covers all three functional components of The Mikhail System - Structure, Nutrients and Biology.
The package includes: Basic Measures (pH, EC, TSS, TOM, TOC), Exchangeable Cations (Ca, Mg, Na, K, H, CEC, Adj.H, Adj.CEC, Cation %'s of Adj.CEC), Available Nutrients including Trace Elements (Ca, Mg, Na, K, P, N, S, Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Co, B, Mo), Desirable levels (Exchangeable Cations, Cation %'s, available Nutrients for up to 3 landuses), Total Nutrients (N,P), Active Biological Indicators (Lactic Acid Bacteria, Fungi, Yeast, Actino-bacteria & Photosynthetic Bacteria) & Recommendations.
Three sets of recommendations are provided:
• Cation balance for soil structure (for gypsum/lime/dolomite)
• Soil nutrient requirements relative to the specified land use/s (for NPKS & trace elements)
• Relative and recommended proportions of
five key indicator groups within the total active bacteria, and appropriate
bioactive materials to correct
Cation Balance, Nutrient Balance & Recommendations (5-page report) *Garden format available
This package includes exchangeable cations and essential plant nutrients:
Basic Measures (pH, EC, TSS, TOM, TOC), Exchangeable Cations (Ca, Mg, Na, K, H, CEC, Adj.H, Adj.CEC, Cation %'s of Adj.CEC), Available Nutrients including Trace Elements (Ca, Mg, Na, K, P, N, S, Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Co, B, Mo), Desirable levels (Exchangeable Cations, Cation %'s, available Nutrients for up to 3 landuses), & Recommendations for Cation balance (lime/dolomite/gypsum), Balanced plant nutrition (NPKS, trace elements).
An extensive range of optional tests are also available on both soil test packages, making it very flexible and adaptable to a wide range of situations. You can also specify up to three different land uses for each sample at no extra cost.
NB. We do not consider the preferences of fertiliser manufacturers, spreading contractors or other 'external' factors - ONLY what is going on in your soil and what your Landuse requires.
A three-page report gives results for all major and trace elements, plus deviations from desirable ranges. Rapid turnaround times mean that plant testing can assist decision-making within just a few days of a problem arising or an intended fertiliser application.
This package includes: Total Nutrients (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Na, S, Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Co, B, Mo), Desirable levels & a guide to nutrient imbalances. Analysis is by wet digestion (not ashing).
Additional options available.
Suitable for analysis of tank, bore, stream or drainage water intended for general farm use (eg. irrigation, spray tanks, wash down, etc.) or for livestock consumption.
For water intended for human consumption or long term irrigation use. We recommend including heavy metal analyses, plus regular testing for biological contamination if the water is intended for sale or public use.
WT-3 Drinking water /& or Extensive Irrigation water plus heavy metals – Order online - Submission form - Example report
Designed for use with either hydroponic stock solutions or wastewater as part of the system-monitoring program.
For use in routine monitoring of aquaculture operations, especially closed recycling systems.
WT-6 Industrial or
Municipal effluent – Order online - Submission form
Incorporates the Drinking water test, plus molybdenum and heavy metals.
Options for single elements (including single heavy metals) and bacterial testing are also available. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

With substantial variation in both quality and price throughout the farm inputs industry, SWEP analysis can be a quick and inexpensive way to ensure you make the right choice. In fact, many suppliers routinely use SWEP for their own quality assurance. Please contact us to choose the right test for your soil ameliorant products.
